Frequently Asked Questions:
1. Why Third Coast? What distinguishes our program from the others?
In one word "Results"! No other program has even come close to having the accomplishments that we have had in Southeast Texas. Our reputation in the industry is second to none.We have a proven track record that shows our program, system, and methodology work. We are the Gold standard by which other programs are judged. Our results speak volumes.
2. What about the coaching staff?
Third Coast is run by Eric Thompson and Brian Palazzi. Coach Thompson and Coach Palazzi are present at every Third Coast class. The staff will also include veteran wrestlers, coaches, and officials. Coach Chris Reed will also be coaching at Third Coast Wrestling. These other coaches have been hand picked by Third Coast and meet the excellence standards that are mandatory for Third Coast Wrestling.
3. When do classes meet?
Third Coast runs on two practices schedules. Fall Season, and Spring Season.. Fall-Season schedule is October through February. Spring Season is March through August. For the current Spring Season we will run a youth class Monday and Wednesday 6-7 p.m. High School Class will run 7-9 p.m. Monday and Wednesday.
4. What does it cost?
The cost of tuition varies depending on what plan you participate in. Students will have the option of enrolling in one month plans up to year plans. See the cost page.
5. Why not just join a program that is more local and convenient?
It is human nature to take the easy way out, ant that's exactly what many people do when choosing a wrestling school. If everything was equal that would make a lot of sense; but given the vast difference in our program and its track record of success, why would anyone settle for giving their child second best? Being a success in wrestling is about making a commitment, a sacrifice. The sacrifice is made not only on the mat by the wrestler but also by the parents. We like to think we make it well worth the trip, and if you look at where our members come from, it's obvious they think so too.
6. My son/daughter isn't good enough yet, should we wait until he/she is better?
No! Do not lose the time he/she could be using to get better waiting for him/her to be so called ready. Attending Third Coast is about learning, not competing. It's about being the best you can be however far that takes you. We have students in their first year and first day of wrestling and we have students who are All-State Wrestlers. The sooner our wrestlers start our program the more successful they will become. Waiting until high school isn't always the best idea, although it's certainly never too late to improve.
7. I heard only the good guys get attention, is that true?
Absolutely not! This is a false statement often made by supporters of other programs to discourage the so-called average kids from attending Third Coast. Maybe it is a means of others justifying why we have produced so many outstanding kids.
8. Why should I send my child to Third Coast?
Because you want to give your child the best possible opportunity to meet their potential and succeed. If you compare every aspect of our program to the competitors, you'll find aside form the geographic location, there is no place like Third Coast Wrestling Club. Third Coast has had a history of outstanding results. We have a reputation as a leader in the field of wrestling. Why settle for anything less? Isn't it time you give your wrestler the best? Then it's time you let them wrestle at Third Coast Wrestling Club!
